Isaiah 6:1-6:8

Disclaimer Please note that all my sermons come from the Lord. But I get my info from many sources from my library and other sources. I do not claim all material as my originality. I don’t quote all sources but I give credit to the Lord who is the author of all sermons. “All originality and no plagiarism makes for dull preaching" Charles Spurgeon

Prison Revival
Acts 16:25-34

Revivals and Riots
Wherever Paul went he had either a revival or a riot
Strange that his revivals were sometimes in prison and his riots in the temple … but no so strange
In his text he had both

Revival at an Unusual Time
Revivals have characteristically come at an unusual time and place
The blessings of a revived church

ii. Blessed is the affliction that drives us to our knees
iii. But theses men prayed before trouble came (v. 16)

i. This may seem to be your darkest hour
ii. But its never too dark to pray
iii. Our God delights to work in the dark

2. They had been winning souls (vv.14-15)
3. They had been prayerful (v. 16)
4. They had been sensitive to the need of the demon-possessed woman and released her (vv. 16-18)
c. Nevertheless they praised God!!
i. Focused on God’s power instead of their problems
ii. Belied that God would deliver them
iii. Identified with Jesus, the stocks, the darkness, striped
d. The value of Praise
e. Its easy to Praise God when all is Well but its harder to Praise him when we are low what is more valuable
III. 2 Christians in the Right Place (v. 28)
a. The earthquake, freedom, opportunity to escape
b. The jailor’s fears. Paul’s surprising statement
c. Christians in the right place
i. In relation to the church, all of the services
ii. In relation to the world, separation
iii. In relation to the Lord, abiding in Him

IV. 2 Christians with the Right Message (v. 31)
