OLD TIMEY REVIVAL
Melodic notes of the piano and strains of old familiar hymns coming from within filled the air as people gathered from
all around in the old Bethlehem Meeting House to praise God's Holy Name.
Some came on horseback, some by horse and carriage as of the days of old, while still others came by horseless carriage
to join friends and neighbors on this Old-Timey Revival and Homecoming Day.
Dr. Stabler was MC and added much as he played the guitar and sang "In The Garden" in remembrance of his late wife, as
well as a bouquet of flowers that graced the piano.
The piano was played by Gail Crow while Curtis Bryant lead the congregation in the singing of old-time hymns, after which
Billy Helms brought a message of how to have a successful revival and backed it up with the Word as found in God's Holy Book.
His message of becoming a part of the week long revival stirred the hearts of more than a few.
A cool breeze coming through the open windows added much to this Old-Timey Revival meeting in the hill country of Mississippi.
Preachers from all around took their turn during the week to stir the hearts of those who gathered at the old Bethlehem
Meeting House and many renewed their vows to go forth as lambs among wolves to spread God's Holy Word.
All who attended felt the presence of God in this old meeting house where people of the past gathered for weddings, funerals,
and to praise God on the Sabbath Day.
Some of the old meeting houses of the past stand all tattered and torn, but the old Bethlehem Meeting House is cared for
by those who seek to carry on the traditions of old.
May the piano and strains of the old hymns still drift from within this old meeting house and be carried by the winds of
time to those who need to hear the Word of God.
God has surly blessed and will continue to bless all who gather at the old Bethlehem Meeting House in the hill country
of Mississippi to spread the word of God and praise his Holy Name.
